Before discussing whether a logo or a brand is better for your company, we must first go over each.

The definition of logo is “a symbol or other design adopted by an organization to identify its products, uniform, vehicles, etc.,” and the definition of branding is “the process of creating a distinct identity for a business in the mind of your target audience and consumers.”

To simplify it, your logo is the first impression your customer will have of your company, and your brand is the gut feeling they get when dealing with your business.

So which is better?

Neither. They’re both critical for a business, so you might as well try to control them. Obviously, it’s a lot easier to control what people see over how people feel, especially in this age of technology, and that is where designers come in.

Designers can create a logo that works and sets you apart from other companies, but that’s only the start. They can also create different graphics to create a unified front whenever and wherever your customers see you! Uniformity all starts with setting aside the specific fonts, colors, and messages you want to put out into the world, and each of those things can guide your customer’s thoughts exactly where you want them.

And remember: if you don’t decide what your brand is, then your customers will!
